Role of Neighborhood and the Built Environment in Pediatric Obesity: Relevance to Clinical Practice 9-26-14

After attending this activity, participants will demonstrate the ability to: associate neighborhood characteristics and childhood obesity risk; employ recent Institute of Medicine recommendations on the role of integrating community and clinical approaches to childhood obesity prevention and treatment; assess research aimed at linking neighborhood environment and childhood obesity risk in two primary care pediatric clinics in Baltimore, MD; describe potential impact of identifying neighborhood and contextual risk factors for obesity in improving clinic-based prevention and treatment.
